Welcome to the PLANTs. This serves as a set up episode for the next story arc. Athrun meets with the annoying Lacus Cline and they discuss their mutual relations with Kira Yamato. Meanwhile Patrick Zala, Athrun's father, calls for a renewed strike on Earth called Operation Spit Break and ends up in a debate with Lacus' father, Siegel Cline, over the correct course of action. We learn quite a bit in their dialogue. We learn that Patrick leads a school of thought of separation of coordinators and naturals, even if it means death of all the naturals. Most importantly we learn through Siegel that coordinator birth-rates have fallen drastically and that if this trend continues there will be no coordinators left and that rejoining the naturals is the only way to survive.

The rest of the episode sets up the battle between Kira and the resistance and the ZAFT forces in africa.
